Today I can offer for sale a really nice example of a classic Civil War vintage "gang" bullet mold for black powder, percussion pistol rounds, featuring 6 (six) cavities, 5 of which appear to be in. 36 caliber, whereas the first cavity was bored out slightly larger, perhaps for. The mold is in very nice original condition, basically being "attic" brown throughout, with solid wooden handles, and integral sprue-cutter which shows only minimal hammering. It is, however, doubtless circa American Civil War, and is in very nice, original, as-found condition. One of the hard wood grips has a few tight age cracks, but otherwise the mold remains in overall very good, vintage condition.
The mold measures 12 7/8 inches long from end to end. From my experience, these large-capacity "gang" molds only ever surface very rarely, with Govt.
Or major manufacturers marked examples bringing very high prices. If you collect American Civil War vintage pistols, bullet molds or accouterments, this will make a very nice addition to your collection. It is being offered AS IS / AS FOUND, estate fresh and in totally un-touched condition.
