My mold is number 28. There were about a 1000 gangmolds manufactured from what I can gather on my own independent research. I have attached 2 photos of my mold for your review.

The number stamped in the brass ferrule on the right handle is the serial number. Mine is also inspector marked. 44 Projectiles to be fired in anger.

Online searches reveal no source for authentic period mold cast bullets. All the ones I have found are cast from either modern aluminum molds, or other big store molds that don't come close to the real McCoy. Even these modern "replicas" cost anywhere from about a buck a piece to 50 cents each if bought in bulk. You can search until you are blue in the face and you will not find an offer like this anywhere. Stop shooting modern stuff and shoot an authentic round made for your gun.

They are so authentic that they will not fit modern replica revolvers without modification. Period projectiles for Period firearms - period!

So, when you go to the range with your real Civil War firearm, you can hold your head high and leave something interesting in the dirt for metal detectorists years from now. Each bullet weighs 216 grains and measures out exactly as expected and called for by ordnance manuals of the time. 5 ounce, metric 14 grams.

14 Grams is 216 grains. Your bullets collectively weigh over 15 lbs! There are 503 bullets in the box. This is a rare offering and the only one I have.

It is expensive and difficult to source pure, unadulterated, lead. 56 Colt Revolving Rifle from a period Colt Mold. Hold tight on that one as I have run out of lead and need about 36 more projectiles to complete the package.
